Can you use remote desktop connection with Windows XP Home? I would like to
set up a connection using a host computer with XP Home and the remote
computer also has XP Home.

Not what one would qualify as 'actual' Microsoft Remote Desktop. No.
Windows XP Home has the client - but not the hosting capability.

You can use third party tools - like UltraVNC however. (Free.)

AFAIK remote desktop is not available in Home edition....
You can use Remote Assistance however, which uses Live Messenger....

That's no problem. For me it's working on a lokal LAN

I didn't get it working over the Internet and through two routers,
though.
